My Verbal Photograph!

A picture, they say, paints a thousand words. If that is the case then here is my verbal photograph to you!

Well hey you, welcome!
I'm Katie.
I am based in Leicester, UK.

What can I tell you about me?
Well, I do love to tell a good story but in this case we're gonna call that a Verbal Photograph.

When I'm not working, I'll most likely be editing and rendering a video for my YouTube Channel. A little space on the internet which has allowed me to share a piece of myself whilst also showcasing the things that I love.

So what do I love?
I love discovering my own sense of style. Creating a look that fits me and my personality. Sometime in my early twenties I gained a great love and passion for finding unique pieces of clothing, that were practical yet versatile enough to enable me to express myself in ways I naturally couldn't.

I love listening to music! In fact discovering new music gives me chills. That feeling when you hear a song for the first time. It amazes me, the deep emotional impact and effect a simple melody or a chorus of lyrics can have on an individual. I also love to read, mostly Y.A. novels. Yes. I have read all of the Harry Potter Books, they are my favourite. However the Legend Series by Marie Lu comes a close second. A very underrated series, but one that will always be on my list of favourite books. Along with reading comes my love for movies. I love them. Just like discovering a new book, I'm always up for a movie I've not yet seen. So be sure to hit me up with any recommendations you think I might like.

Photography however has always been number one. It is very much a huge part of my life and is reflected in a lot of my online presence. The only record of me and my siblings having a childhood are that of our family photographs. My parents never owned a device that could shoot in film or video, but they took lots of photos. Those images still evoke many happy memories. That is a key part to why I continue to make videos and take photographs today. To capture those precious moments that our memories may fail to save.

In the words of one of my favourite quotes : 'A good snapshot stops a moment from running away' - Eudora Welty

From a very young age I got a kick out of making things. Just the aspect of creating things with my own hands and using my imagination, was a thorough joy. That kick became my passion! So much so, I eventually decided to make it the main focus of my education. Studying Art for two years and then going on to completing three successful years at college studying Photography, IT and Child Care. I then graduated from university with a BA Honours Degree in Photography and Video in 2015.

I would like to acknowledge all those who have supported me and my photography work over the years. Especially my family. Truthfully, my clients, the people that I have met and worked with have definitely given me even more reason to continue to pursue my passion and make the art that I love.
