My Verbal Photograph!

A picture, they say, paints a thousand words. If that is the case then here is my verbal photograph to you!

Well hey, welcome to my blog!
The names Katie (hence the blog title).
I am an aspiring photographer based in Leicester.
I have completed 3 successful years of college studying Photography, IT and Child Care.
I am now in my 2nd year of university studying Photography and Video.

My passion for photography sprouted for the first time when I was just a little girl. Taking my little 'Point & Shoot Film Camera' everywhere I went and getting the chance to snap away at anything just for the sake of clicking a button. Honestly it was my favourite little toy when growing up. But before I even met my future hobby, I loved art!

Just the aspect of creating things with my own hands and imagination was a thorough joy. Many years later after taking art for my GCSE's, I just decided art wasn't for me. I didn't enjoy it as much as I used to and neither did I think I could pursue any kind of future in that area. But because of this decision I had nothing to go on, nothing to be excited about, I needed to find something that I enjoyed especially if my next steps in life would be to go to college. That's when I pondered on all the things that made me happy in my life, at that time. You can probably guess that when reviewing my thoughts over and over in my head the phrase 'taking photo's' came to my mind. I used to go on several photography outings with different photographers and with people I loved in general but never actually considered the thought of doing it myself.

After receiving my first digital camera for Christmas back in 2007 my life as I knew it had changed. After learning and playing with the digital side of photography for 3 years, I decided to take my work to a more professional level. My first intention was to create a blog which would express and show my love for the world, through photographs. 3 years later and my blog still stands, growing and developing in so many ways.

Anyway enough of my back story let me share some things I like to do in my spare time. When not on the computer working on my photos, or ordering Paramore T-shirts, I enjoy reading, listening to music and dying my hair red every two to three months!

I guess you could say that my photos are not the only thing about me that are colourful and vibrant. I'm also known for my bright-crazy outfits.

The people I would like to credit in supporting me and my photography work, would be my amazing sister Claire and my beautiful best friend Katie Ellis, who also has her own blog

Truthfully, you guys give me even more reason to make this dream a reality.
Thank you so much!
Katie xx
