Bee Happy :D

Whilst in the editing process of Bethan's and Claire's mini shoot, I came across this image of a bumble bee that I'd shot in one of our small breaks. Appearing to look quite restless or just simply sun bathing, this little guy faces trials just like any of us.

So next time when your feeling down, tired or just having an unpleasant day. Just take a break, think of the bee and put a smile on your face because after all we're all in this together.

This photo is the original and was just to perfect to edit. 

Just a little hint that you don't always need the power and effects of Photoshop.

College Course Work Preview #5

Winter Wonderland - Fosse Recreation Ground

Here's a little background information, so you already know that on the 5th of February we had snow but besides the weather it was a Sunday.

Now normally on a Sunday I would get up, have my breakfast, wash my face, brush my teeth squeaky clean and begin getting ready for Church. But because of the weather, around about 6am my mum received a phone call from the bishop stating that church was to be cancelled. This then put me in a position of having nothing to do.

Nothing to do!! you might ask hehehe, well ever since we were little we have had these rules as a family to avoid any day-to-day activities and tasks such as using the computer, laptop, xbox etc. on a Sunday. And well we've all tried to keep within those rules unless there is any serious need to go against them. So I couldn't edit or finish photo's or anything like that so that's why I had nothing to do. 

I would have read a book but as much as I hate the snow and the cold I couldn't resist the need to take some photo's. I had a feeling that this snow wasn't going to hang around forever so immediate action was what I went with. Ringing my best friend up...yeh you guessed it...Katie Ellis, inviting her to join us. Me, Claire and Katie headed out to the Fosse Recreation Ground. 

Whilst taking some photos, I bumped into two girls making a snow man and igloo. After asking for their mother's permission, I quickly took some shots and then we moved over to the play area. Last time I took photos here it was raining and we didn't have umbrella's. But today I was back taking photo's in the snow.

Butlins 2011 - Part 2

After the morning walk & breakfast, me and Claire went back to our room. Whilst I had a shower Claire relaxed in bed and watched some T.V. Once I was nice and fresh ready for the day I thought I might as well take some photos of our chalet that we were staying in (hence the camera case on my bed in the first photo). When mum and dad arrived back from breakfast we had a look at the activity booklet to see what was on and the times. Claire wanted to see the Loony Toons show that was going to be held in the REDS. While we waited we went into the skyline and watched the Billy Bear show which was quite fun for the younger generation, but was still entertaining for those (like me) who love the childish theme. It just gives that extra drum of the heart-homey-excitement feeling. We then spotted in the activity book that an animal show was going to start in the next 15 minutes over near the arcade so we made our way over. There was a small cue but we made it inside with good seats too. Claire was able to stroke a Meerkat, though she previously had held one during the summer up at Beaumont Leys Shopping centre. Mum then was chosen to hold a Snapping Turtle which she thought was a really good experience.

Finally we made it to the Loony Toons show. It was quite funny because at the time, I was wearing a Paramore t-shirt; the red coat who was presenting the show asked 'why do you have a heart on your top trapped inside a mouse trap'. I pointed at the statement above the image on my shirt which said 'None of it was ever worth the risk', The explanation I gave him was 'Because they Rock' he just said 'so true'. Well I now know there's a red coat at Butlins who likes Paramore eek! Any ways here are the photos :)

The Little Knights - Part 3

Finally we made it to the park, the boys went on the round about doing all kinds of things on it. After they got bored on that we then moved to a giant log which had recently been cut down, evidently there were wood shavings and lots of hidden lady birds. As the boys played on the log I snapped away catching some funny faces of the cheeky monkeys :) Enjoy!

The Little Knights - Part 1

As a yearly tradition now, me and my family meet up with the Knight family. This year it was our turn to choose where we would go out for the day. I suggested for them to come to our home town in Leicester and visit some of the play parks with in the area. Since it was only the two youngest it was a perfect idea. We first headed off to Western Park.

Alastar loved climbing the trees, he reminded me of when I was his age I was like a monkey and all sorts. Julian however just seemed to be more interested in me taking photos of him and the seeds in which he found.
